My Dad is 79 Year old this year and I talked him into Archery Hunting. Let him use my old bow and turned it down to about 46 lbs. He shaks more that he wants but it was great fun! He finally took this little buck at about 12 yards! He giggled like a little kid! A definite memory maker!
The third shot is a charm!!! 08/27/2009

Good job man. The memories shared with friends and family can never be replaced. Congrats to you for getting your dad out there at his young age and teaching him the "How Too's" and to your dad for listening to them. LOL

Do all you can while you can with your Dad. My Dad will be 87 in a couple weeks and quit hunting a few years ago. I really cherish all the years we were able to go out together and wish we could keep doing it, but it just isn't in the cards any more

huntintoo: That's awesome! Congrats to your Dad and to you for introducing him to archery hunting. That just proves it's never too late to start something new; after all a person only goes around once! Thanks for sharing. Take care and Good Hunting! Best Afield, Steve

Yup ... cool, neat-o and all the other stuff all the others said ... My dad has been gone for 20 years, but I still cherish the memories of all our hunts together ...

Huntitoo,
What a great heart warming story....Congrats to your Dad on his first bow kill......My dad now 82 still hunts but has really slowed down over the past few years....Two artificial knees and prostate trouble.....He did manage to bag a doe and a button buck last year with a rifle...His last buck came the year before last...I hope he is able to hunt again with us this fall....I will always cherish every hunt we have had together....The best thrills I have now in the woods are when my Dad, sons or grandsons are with me....This pic is of my Dad's 2007 Wisconsin buck.......
Huntintoo give your Dad a hug from me because if I was there I certainly would,
Randy
