2010 hunting - Tuesday, June 16, 2009 10:01 AM ( #1 )
Anyone interested in setting up a group hunt for 2010 somewhere?
Bird, big game, small game?
Any chance of a hunting camp lease we could get in on, anything like that?

I'll put this in the Deer forum as well, wasn't sure where to put it. Since I am an avid elk hunter, figured this was a good spot to start.

Should I take this offline Mods? Not associate it with the website?
Just let me know and I will delete if necessary?

In contrast to my "invitation/suggestion" on the other thread, I might be able to find a way to arrange somethin' in Idaho by next year ... as I recall, the bow tags are OTC, so that's one detail that's not a complication ...

I would prefer bird hunting, but could go for that elk hunt you are talking about.  However, I have from the middle of October through the first week of November already tied up with hunts in Wyoming and New Mexico for mule deer.  What would the dates of that elk hunt be?

TopGun... bird hunting is in this same topic in the deer forum... but there is nothing from stopping us at doing both.
I would be interested in either the elk or the bird....and if I could swing it.. BOTH!!!

I believe that that particular area is a draw tag, even for bow. But there are alot of bow tags. Doesnt necessarily mean we have to do that spot but I have heard alot of good things about that whole area.

Elk, Bird, Deer... any of the above works for me.
Idaho would be a cool trip/adventure, even if I couldn't get a tag maybe I could be a sherpa or something for someone.
I've never had the opportunity to hunt there, but any experience would be worth it.

I'm up for almost anything any time if nothing else is scheduled, as long as it involves the outdoors.  Whether I have a tag, if is for the elk hunt, would not be that big a deal.  It's just getting out in the wide open that is all the fun!!!

OK, My bad. The tag is over the counter but it is a first come first served. I couldn't find when they go on sale but for this year there are still like 400+ tags left so apparently they don't go too fast.

I'm not sure if I found all the fees but this is what I came up with. I have the $ amount but not the change. I didn't write them down when I was looking at them. Sorry.

Hunting license - $154
Elk tag - $416
Archery fee - $20

That'll give ya a rough estimate. Start saving for next year. Or this year if you can't wait. I gotta wait. my season is booked but I'm pretty sure I'm going next year.
