12-year-old shoots 222 pound buck over weekend

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A 12-year-old from Eau Claire shoots a 222 pound buck on her first-ever hunt over the weekend.
Hunting story from Samantha Rau's family:

Samantha harvested this 8 point buck Sunday afternoon. It was the first time she ever went hunting. Sammy passed hunters safety in June. She is 12-years-old and attends South Middle School.

Samantha was hunting with her uncle Jon Rau south of Eau Claire. She made a 200-yard shot with a 243 rifle. She dropped the deer in one-shot in its tracks. Ogden's Wild Game Processing said it's the biggest body size they've had all year at 222 pounds.

She is very happy and wants to continue hunting with her uncle.
