Owner and outfitter, Jim McCollum of Licking County Whitetails welcomes you to the heart of big buck country in central Ohio. As a lifelong native of Ohio, he was born and raised in the area of Licking County, and has hunted this area for over 35 years.
Jim's experience as a professional guide and outfitter runs deep. He is a pro staff member of the Bear Jennings Archery Company, a life member of the North American Hunting Club, a member of the Pope & Young Club and is also a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk foundation. In addition, Jim is a county representative for the Ohio Bowhunters Association. For the past six years, he has also been a registered big game guide in New Mexico.
This region of Ohio, which includes Licking and Knox counties, has a long running history of being an area that provides opportunities for harvesting record book bucks. Along with this, the Pope & Young and Boone & Crocket Book entries, from 1990 to 2000, have ranked Ohio as the fourth leading state in the nation in terms of listing record book bucks. More specifically, Licking and Knox counties are both ranked in the top five counties in the state for producing trophy bucks.
Licking County Whitetails offers archery hunts only with cross bows also welcomed. All hunts are 6 full days. These exciting archery adventures include hunting on privately-owned and maintained farmlands, and are strictly fair-chase hunts with no high-fencing or other obstacles to limit animal movement. The hunting areas are hardwoods surrounded by corn and bean fields.
