One lucky United Outfitters Association - FORAHUNT.com Talk Forum Member will be randomly selected to hunt trophy black bear (including World-Class Fishing) during the 2009 Manitoba bear season with Monty McKenzie of McKenzie Outfitters and Steve Peters, founder and President of the United Outfitters Association.
The hunt will take place on a large tract of unspoiled Canadian Shield Land in eastern Manitoba. This remote, bear-rich wilderness area is accessible only by float plane. The area supports numerous black bear that grow to trophy-caliber size and is also home to World-Class Walleye and Northern Pike fishing. While in camp, all your meals and needs will be met by a cook, guides and the McKenzie Outfitters’ camp staff.
All access to bait sites is by 16' aluminum boats that will be safely commandeered by McKenzie Outfitters’ guides. Tree stands are set within easy bow and rifle range from the bait site so you can enjoy watching bears come and go while waiting for the bruin of your choosing. Rifle, archery and muzzleloader hunters are all welcome to register for the Free Hunt Giveaway.
Bear hunting accommodations consist of canvas wall tents set on raised wooden floors. The tents include cots, chairs and propane lights and are heated with wood stoves. The base camp has washroom facilities and Hot Showers -- Not exactly roughing it! You will have all the comforts you need for your adventure. The camp is equipped with generators, a deepfreeze and a satellite phone in case of emergency.
Once your bear is down, your photo session is complete and your trophy is safely stored in an on-site deepfreeze… It's fishing time! From the shadowy depths, Northern Pike measuring 24- to 48-plus inches lie in wait to suddenly boil the surface as they inhale your favorite spoon. And, when your arms grow weary from pike fishing, a mouthwatering shore-lunch of freshly caught walleye is your reward for spending a relaxing morning jigging or trolling a line in these pristine, fish-choked waters.
